Position: Business Development Manager
Location: Abingdon (OX13)
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 basic salary (+ bonus/commission structure)
Hours: Monday – Friday (08:00 – 17:00)

Opportunity: 

Thompson & Terry Recruitment are working with a premium start-up hospitality brand with modern offices just outside of Abingdon who are looking to recruit a confident and hungry Business Development Manager to manage the day to day commercial side of the business.  

As a Business Development Manager, it will be your responsibility to engage with potential well known international customers predominantly over the telephone both by cold calling and answering incoming calls, engage with potential customers on social media platforms and attend conferences and trade shows. 

As the vast majority of potential customers you speak to will be contacted through telemarketing techniques, our client is looking to recruit a confident and consultative sales person that will go above and beyond to offer a truly great service. 

The Business Development Manager vacancy is well-suited to a super organised and innovative candidate with a small business mentality who is looking for a multidimensional role. Whilst the role is largely telephone sales-focused, the ideal candidate will have a small business mentality and able to wear ‘many hats’ with the opportunity to put in the foundations before building a team around them.

Our client are looking to recruit an ambitious and confident Business Development Manager to join their offices based just outside of Abingdon, homing an impressive portfolio of sister companies.  

The business have ambitious plans to scale, therefore whilst the successful Business Development Manager will need to really ‘graft’ and wear many hats initially, there is a genuine opportunity and plan to build a team around you.   

Requirements: 

• Highly ambitious and driven to make sales through telemarketing techniques and a variety of methods 
• A track record of exceeding targets within an office-based sales environment and ambitious to continue developing 
• A strong and engaging communicator both over the telephone and in writing
• A real team player with the ability and autonomy to manage a varied workload, multitask and also prioritise projects (wear many hats!) 
• A genuine hunger to build a long-term career and to build a team around you
