Position: Hands-On Site Manager
Location: Abingdon (OX14)
Salary: £38,000 – £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday – Friday (typically 08:00 – 17:00 with some flexibility and potential paid overtime)

The Opportunity:

Thompson & Terry Recruitment are working with a global shipping and logistics business, with a large site just outside of Abingdon, who are looking to recruit a versatile Hands-on Site Manager to manage their pre-shipment operation from start to finish.

As the Hands-on Site Manager, you will be solely responsible for managing and organising the whole operation and the large site on a local level. The successful Hands-on Site Manager will be responsible for checking in deliveries, taking detailed inventory and pictures, wrapping and general maintenance before loading into a shipping container heading for international export.

Whilst training and support will be provided, the successful candidate must be a self-starter who is confident with using a range of tools to complete basic mechanical and wood work and be physically fit. Equally, the role certainly requires a strong attention to detail and being highly organised is an absolute must!

In addition to hands on and management duties, a smaller part of the job would be to take photographs, update their social media and some basic office duties.

As the business continues to grow, there will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to really grow and take on more responsibility, including potentially recruiting somebody to support them with day-to-day duties.

Requirements

• Experience of working in a hands-on environment and using tools
• Highly motivated to take ownership of the role and work on own initiative
• Comfortable with some office administration, basic reporting and social media
• Confident communicating with customers and their wider team to understand key priorities
• A forklift license is not essential but would be an added bonus
