Student Engagement Coordinator, £25k (+ bonus)


Position: Student Engagement Coordinator
Location: South (Remote/home based role with regular travel across the UK and overseas opportunities)
Salary: £25,000 basic salary(plus c. £5k bonus)
Hours: Full-time worked flexibly over a 5-day week (The role requires attending events in the evening during busy periods)

Thompson & Terry Recruitment are working with a purposeful business and charity who inspire young people to volunteer overseas. They are looking to recruit a passionate, value driven and engaging Student Engagement Coordinator to join their team and work closely with their University Partnerships Manager.  

As Student Engagement Coordinator, a big part of your job will be working closely with the University Partnerships Manager to help engage and inspire UK students to join the volunteering programmes overseas. This role will involve lots travelling to universities, attending freshers’ fairs and communicating with students across the country through presentations of the opportunities available to them and inspiring them to onboard onto a programme. 

As their charity’s sole focus is international development, it is essential that the successful candidate has a passion for making a difference to communities globally, therefore it’s really important the successful candidate is really engaged by the opportunity to make a difference.     

In addition to the day-to-day duties required, the Student Engagement Coordinator will also be responsible for posting on social media, responding to student emails and being a point of contact for these students.  

This vacancy could be well suited to a recent graduate, who has a genuine passion for inspiring young people to volunteer overseas but equally ambitious to build a genuine career, as the current head of department joined at this level just 5 years ago.

  • A strong and engaging communicator at all levels with a strong level of English (both written and verbal)  
  • Value focused with a genuine passion for supporting people and communities and inspiring people to volunteer   
  • Previous experience of working/travelling within overseas communities or experience in international development work would definitely be an advantage  
  • The ability to manage own diary and be flexible to adapt and adjust to situations due to time differences between overseas hubs but also evening event requirements (freshers fairs as an example)  
  • Due to the nature of the role, willingness to regularly travel to universities across the UK is essential
