Position: Fundraising Co-ordinator Location: Harwell/Didcot (hybrid and remote opportunities available) Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 basic salary Hours: Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week – with occasional evening/weekend work) Experience: Charity, Fundraising, Trusts, Foundations, Funding, Funders, Grants, Reporting, Youth Work, Young People, Young Carers
Thompson & Terry Recruitment are working with Be Free Young Carers, a UK registered young carers charity who support young carers aged 8-17 years old across Oxfordshire by offering a range of emotional and practical support and advice. They are looking to recruit a passionate and value-driven Fundraising Co-ordinator to work closely with the existing team to identify and develop new opportunities to increase the charities income.
As Fundraising Co-ordinator, the focus of your job will be to work closely with the CEO and Fundraiser & Events Co-ordinator to secure gifts and grants from charitable trusts, foundations and public bodies to support the growth of the charity. A big part of the role will involve drafting, submitting and managing the process of funding applications, liaising with trusts, foundations and grant making bodies, identifying new ways to generate income, reporting on funding projects and monitoring KPIs to meet funding deadlines.
As the charity’s sole focus is supporting but also improving the lives of young carers, it is absolutely essential that the successful candidate has a passion for making a difference to the local community and is really excited by the opportunity to make a difference.
This vacancy could be well suited to an experienced Fundraiser, who has a genuine passion for making a difference but is equally ambitious to build a long-term career.
Be Free Young Carers is the only specialist organisation supporting young carers in Oxfordshire and receives no statutory funding. Based in Didcot, they have been supporting young carers aged 8 to 17 years across South Oxfordshire, The Vale of White Horse and Oxford City for the past 29 years through their emotional and practical advice giving.
Be Free Young Carers are completely socially driven and the whole team lives by a set of strong core values so it is important the successful candidate aligns completely with this.
Alongside an incredibly rewarding job, the successful candidate will also enjoy a generous annual leave package (28 days + bank holidays and your birthday off!) with genuine career progression opportunities, alongside the opportunity to see the effects of your work first-hand.
Experience of working within a fundraising capacity
The confidence to build relationships and good overall communication skills
A strong level of English (both written and verbal)
The ability to manage your own diary, work under pressure and also keep on top of deadlines for multiple projects
